Totally Killer clip: Sweet 16 Killer menaces Liana Liberato

Date:

A clip from Prime Video’s time travel slasher Totally Killer previews a moment where the masked murderer encounters Liana Liberato

The time travel slasher comedy Totally Killer is scheduled to begin streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video on October 6th, but today, one week out from the release, the marketing department has unveiled a clip from the film that I would have deemed too much of a SPOILER to show off. But showing it off they are, so I have embedded it above. This scene shows the masked murderer know as the Sweet 16 Killer crossing paths with Liana Liberato from Scream VI, but if you don’t want to know how that encounter turns out, avert your eyes.

Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe) directed Totally Killer from a screenplay by Hocus Pocus 2 writer Jen D’Angelo, based on an original script by David Matalon (The Clearing) and Sasha Perl-Raver (Let’s Get Merried). The story follows Jamie (Kiernan Shipka) whose mom, Pam, is terrorized by the resurgence of the Sweet Sixteen Killer — a masked maniac that slaughtered a group of teenage girls in the ‘80s. With the help of her friend Amelia, Jamie travels back in time to 1987 and teams up with the teen version of her mom (Olivia Holt) to try and stop the killer.

Shipka, Holt, and Liberato (whose character is named Tiffany Clark) are joined in the cast by Kelcey Mawema as Jamie’s friend Amelia, Julie Bowen as the modern day Pam, Lochlyn Munro as Adult Blake, Charlie Gillespie as Teen Blake, Stephi Chin-Salvo as Marisa Song, Anna Diaz as Heather Hernandez, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar as Teen Randy Finkle, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson as Teen Lauren, Ella Choi as Teen Kara Molnar, Nathaniel Appiah as Teen Doug Summers, and Jonathan Potts as Adult Chris Dubusage. Always Be My Maybe‘s Randall Park is also in there, playing Sheriff Dennis Lim.

Totally Killer was produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath for Divide/Conquer. Khan and Chloe Yellin executive produce for Fierce Baby Productions, and Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold are executive producing for Blumhouse Television. Brian Parker is also an executive producer on the film, which has been rated R for “bloody violence, language, sexual material, and teen drug/alcohol use“.

Khan had this to say about the project: “The idea of a horror-comedy time-travel movie is, I’m gonna be honest, something I never thought of in my life. So when I was approached by the amazing creatives at Blumhouse and Amazon about Totally Killer, it was just so unique and exciting I had to be involved. And then add this incredible cast on top of that? Everybody get readyyyyyyy.

Will you be watching Totally Killer when it reaches Prime Video next week? What did you think of the spoilery clip featuring Liana Liberato? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
