NSYNC debuts first new song in almost 20 years for Trolls Band Together

NSYNC returns with the band’s first new song in 19 years for the thrid film in the Trolls franchise, Trolls Band Together.

The entertainment world is spiraling as Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and NSYNC continue to dominate news cycles with sold-out concerts, ticketing woes, and a long-awaited reunion! After dominating the stage at the VMAs, NSYNC has dropped their first single, Better Place,” and it’s a bop! The new song hails from the third film in the Trolls franchise, Trolls Band Together, starring Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.

In Trolls Band Together, Queen Poppy discovers her partner, Branch, was once a part of her favorite boy band, BroZone. Branch was a featured player in the band alongside Floyd (Sivan), John Dory (André), Spruce (Diggs), and Clay (Cudi). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby; the family hasn’t spoken since. When Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of pop-star villains – Velvet (Schumer) and Veneer (Rannells) – Branch and Poppy, embark on an emotional journey to reunite Branch’s family and rescue Floyd from a dark fate.

Joining Kendrick and Timberlake for the next Trolls adventure are Eric André (Jackass Forever), Kid Cudi (Don’t Look Up), Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Troye Sivan (Boy Erased), Camilla Cabello (Cinderella), Amy Schumer (Only Murders in the Building), Andrew Rannells (Big Mouth), RuPaul Charles (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Zosia Mamet (The Flight Attendant), Zooey Deschanel (New Girl), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Kick-AssSuperbad), Icona Pop collaborators Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, Anderson Paak, Ron Funches (Harley Quinn), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory) and Kenan Thompson (SNL).

“Better Place,” performed by NSYNC members Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone, kicks off with a “Whistle While You Work” vibe before the Fab Five make an entrance. With pep and energy reminiscent of the Daft Punk track “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, “Better Place” soars like an upbeat anthem ready to be played ad nauseam in the stereo of your minivan.

NSYNC was all the rage in the late ’90s and early 2000s with hits like “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “This I Promise You,” “Girlfriend,” “Pop” and more. The band was everywhere you went, from speakers in shopping mall dressing rooms to beach cafes and countless tween girls’ bedrooms under the sun.

Trolls Band Together arrives in theaters on November 17, 2023. Are you an NSYNC fan? Let us know what you think of NSYNC’s new song in the comments below!
