Directed by Steffen Hacker from a screenplay written by Michael Knoll, Ingenium has the following synopsis: As Felicitas’ life is turned upside down she doesn’t know if her nightmares are taking over or if something bigger is trying to control her – and the only way to find out the truth is her best friend Natascha who is locked up in an asylum.
The film stars Erkan Acar, Anne Alexander-Sieder, Raffael Armbruster, Ahmed Bala, Werner Georg Biermeier, Ulrik Bruchholz, Tony De Maeyer, Tolga Degirmen, Roland Elsner, Erik Falk, Heike Feist, Verena Frank, Birgit Hildebrand, Judith Hoersch, Ralph Honicke, Malin Kaltenbacher, Corsin Kleiner, Elisa Kleiner, Laura Klingler, Lara Koller, Augustin Kramann, Verena Kraus, Cornelia Lanz, Barbara Laule, Esther Maaß, Aladin Mekanovic, Ronja Peters, Felina Pham, Karin Pittner, Bea-Marie Ruck, Christina Schertler, Ute Scholz, Klaus Stopp, Eskindir Tesfay, Kai Todenhoefer, Adrian Topol, Hans-Peter Wilbert, Chao Yodngern, Jan Yousagoon, and Volkram Zschiesche.
Ingenium marks the feature directorial debut of visual effects artist Steffen Hacker. Since making this film, Hacker has directed a few episodes of the TV series Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, and a film called Dragon Run, which is currently in post-production.
