Avamere Living President Carl Tabor was honored this week as an inaugural winner of the McKnight's Pinnacle Award. These awards recognized industry veterans for exemplary service and leadership in Long Term Care. Tabor will receive the "Agent of Change" award.

Winners were named in one of seven categories: Agent of Change, Industry Ally, Inspiration, Setting the Standard, Thought Leader, Unsung Hero, and Business Partner. The 30 veterans awarded have driven change, set new standards, and provided inspirational leadership. The honorees are veteran long-term care operators, caregivers, and affiliated professionals who have had lengthy careers - at least 20 years - serving at the top levels of skilled nursing, home care, and senior living. The program is a joint effort of McKnight's Long-Term Care News and sister media brands McKnight's Senior Living and McKnight's Home Care.

"It is an honor to be chosen along with the other awardees as someone who continues to strive for quality care and outcomes for those we serve," says Tabor. "I have spent my career dedicated to learning, growing, and advocating for process improvement and innovation around how we care for those in need of Long Term Care and Skilled Nursing Services. This award just highlights the fact that many of us are pushing for the same thing."

"Our teams are hardworking, dedicated individuals committed to enhancing the lives of our patients. Under Carl's leadership we continue to move the needle of setting the stage in industry-leading practices," says VP of Operations Roxanne Stennett. "He has been an inspirational leader to serve with, always advocating for better outcomes through how we care for those in need."

Along with this award, Tabor's facilities have received three deficiency free surveys in 2022, among other awards for quality care, patient outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Under Carl's leadership, Avamere Living facilities will continue to focus on these practices into 2023 and beyond- proving that Tabor's Agent of Change award was well deserved.
